Brandon B. Kang, DDS

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Brandon B. Kang is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Pacific Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center located in Oakland and the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California.

Dr. Kang received his Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University, graduating as the valedictorian of his class in 2004. While a dental student at NYU, he was inducted and awarded as an outstanding student with the highest performance and professionalism by the New York Section of American College of Dentists. Upon graduation, Dr. Kang continued his oral and maxillofacial surgery training with a residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Center in Brooklyn, now known as NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center.

After completing his residency program, Dr. Kang joined a multi-specialty practice at Geisinger Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania. At Geisinger, he practiced the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery, craniofacial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, sleep apnea, alveolar/lip/palatal clefts and dental implantology.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Kang teaches oral and maxillofacial surgery residents at University of Pacific and has lectured throughout the United States and internationally. He is also passionate about helping underserved populations through medical missions in developing countries.

Dr. Kang is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

David Ahn, DMD, FACS

Dr. Ahn graduated magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University with honors in biochemistry before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Following graduation, he served as an active duty Air Force general dentist at Lackland Air Force Base for a year before commencing his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the San Antonio Military Medical Center.

During his residency, Dr. Ahn focused on a wide range of oral and maxillofacial procedures, specializing in dentoalveolar, implant, orthognathic, trauma and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. He further honed his skills through a fellowship in TMJ and minimally invasive care at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with the Harvard OMS program.

Currently, Dr. Ahn serves as the program director at Travis Air Force Base for the David Grant USAF Medical Center OMS residency program. Additionally, he is an assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, actively involved in teaching OMS and advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residents.
